THE ARMSTRONG S&H CIRCULATING PUMP A MULTI-PURPOSE WITH GREAT FUNCTIONALITY

THE ARMSTRONG S&H CIRCULATING PUMP

A MULTI-PURPOSE WITH GREAT FUNCTIONALITY

The Armstrong S & H circulating pump is a great pump in the Armstrong lineage of pumps that is appropriate for hydronics heating and cooling, multi-stage zoning, industrial service and domestic water cooling. It is available in different sizes to suit different purposes. You may use it for pumping water efficiently both at home or industrial areas.

  • The Structure: The pump has a three-piece body with a radial split characterized by the following:
  • Oversized shaft: The shaft may be using local alloy steel or stainless steel. Accordingly, the pump is said to have design and design respectively. Both these designs are good in terms of longevity.
  • Centrifugal impeller: It ensures maximum delivery of water in the HVAC system.
  • Centered silicon carbide seal: It is made up of durable materials and is hence a long-lasting, noise-free choice.
  • Modular construction: The bearing module fits all the models such as S25-S57 and H-32 –H-54. It is associated with easy serviceability and lesser costs.

The body can be left in-line while operating. It thus saves a lot of effort in servicing.

  • Let us have a look at the different materials used for constructing the pump:
  • The volute is manufactured using cast iron and non-ferrous bronze.
  • The impeller is made using cast bronze and cast LZ bronze.
  • Mechanical seal used is a sintered silicon carbide seal.
  • The shaft may be made using an alloy like that of steel and copper or even stainless steel.
  • Here are a few tips for using the pumps:
  • You can use the pump and shaft to mount the circulators in position.
  • If you are looking for this pump for domestic use, make sure that you order for the one whose body is made of bronze.
  • If you want the pump to operate above its normal temperature range of 225 degree Farenheit, you should consult a specialist.
  • If you want to buy a maintenance-free circulator, identify them using the symbol “MF” on them.
  • The Armstrong S & H circulating pump is thus an effective appliance to be used to serve various purposes.

If you are interested in more data on the motor and pump, you may refer to the charts. There are other charts as well which will give you an idea of the performance characteristics.
