BELL AND GOSSETT SERIES 80 IN- LINE MOUNTING CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS
BELL AND GOSSETT SERIES 80 IN- LINE MOUNTING CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS
W.C. Bell and E.J. Gossett formed Bell & Gossett in Chicago in 1916 to manufacture and sell case hardening compounds, adding potable water heaters two years later. This direction set the course for B&G to become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of pumps, valves, heat exchangers and accessories for plumbing, wastewater and HVAC applications.
Bell & Gossett is a leading manufacturer of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and accessories for plumbing, wastewater, and HVAC-including steam and heat transfer applications. To build and operate an efficient water system, you need both the right products and experts who know the application.
Bell & Gossett’s complete line of in-line and base-mounted centrifugal pumps and circulators can handle virtually any HVAC requirement. The pumps are engineered for exceptional performance and rugged durability. They are designed for easy maintenance and to be highly energy efficient. The pumps provide reliable operation in a variety of applications, including hydronic heating and cooling systems, industrial, refrigeration, cooling towers and irrigation. All B&G pumps are manufactured at an ISO 9001- approved facility.
Series 80 pumps can be mounted with the motor shaft horizontal or vertical. When the optional Integrated Technologic with Sensorless Control (ITSC) is installed, the pump can only be installed with the motor shaft vertical.
Series 80 In-Line Mounted Centrifugal Pumps
APPLICATIONS OF 80 SERIES PUMP ARE AS FOLLOWS:
MOTOR BRACKET
Precisely machined rigid cast iron motor bracket ensures positive concentric alignment between motor and pump components. This helps promote maintenance free operation and contributes to pump longevity.
VOLUTE
Standard Construction is for 175 psi working pressure, with flanges drilled to matte with 125# ANSI Companion flanges.
MOTORS
Standard NEMA JM and JP vertical solid shaft motors in drip proof enclosures are utilized on B&G Series 80 pumps. High efficiency motors, as well as TEFC and explosion proof enclosures are available options.
INTERNALLY FLUSHED MECHNANICAL SEAL
The B&G built in mechanical seal with anti- vortex baffles in seal chamber provide five times the flow around the seal faces versus an externally flushed seal. Costly and inefficient external flush lines are not needed.
CONVENIENT TO INSTALL
In line mounting eliminates the need for special pads or foundations in most cases. Standard piping supports on both side of the pump are required at all the times.
HORIZONTAL MOUNTING
Pump may be mounted horizontally in vertical piping if desired.
CONVENIENT TO SERVICE
Back pullout design allows servicing without disturbing the piping. Repairs can be made quickly and easily. Thus down time is kept to minimum.
Close-coupled in-line mounted pump available in 1-1/2” through 8” sizes. 1/4 to 50 HP at 1750 RPM and 5 to 60 HP at 3500 RPM. Available in bronze-fitted and all-iron construction. Flows to 2500 GPM, heads to 380 feet.
Internally flushed BUNA/Carbon ceramic seals are standard. The internal flushed seal provides five times the flushing flow of pumps designed with externally flushed seals. The Series 80 pump is available in 175# and 250# working pressure and split-coupled designs.
Series 80 with Integrated VFD and Sensorless Control
The integrated variable speed drive with sensorless pressure and flow controller utilizes the latest generation hardware platform with advanced pumping software and proven algorithms.
- NEMA Premiumy Efficiency motors
- TEFC or ODP on 2/4/6 pole motors
- Supports 200, 460, and 575 VAC power
- Compact Vertical Inline pumping solution
- Small footprint ideally suited for Hydronic systems
- Factory installed VFD saves you time and money
- Single sourcing for the complete pumping system
- Sensorless Pressure Control
- Sensorless solution eliminates cost of wiring and installing pressure transducers
- Automatic handoff for duty/bypass
Also supports wired transducers for more complex multi-pump systems
Typical specifications for Bell & Gossett Series in 80 In- Line Pumps
Pumps shall be in- line type, closed- coupled single stage design, for installation in horizontal or vertical position, and capable of being serviced without disturbing piping connections. The pump case shall have gauge tappings at the suction and discharge nozzles and will include drain ports. Motor shall meet the NEMA specifications and shall be the size, voltage and enclosure called for on the plans. It shall have heavy duty grease lubricated ball bearings, completely adequate for the maximum load for which the pump is designed.
Each pump is factory tested as per Hydraulic Institute standards and hence you can be relaxed about the efficiency of the product, its functioning and the quality. Bell & Gossett have been the trusted brand for years and continue to be the best with their excellent services and use of best technology.
